Cinema for me is…

Manuel in 10 frames

  1. What film made you fall in love with cinema?
I think it was when I saw “The secret in their eyes” (Juan Jose Campanella, 2009). I was about 14 years old when I saw it for the first time and since then I began to see cinema in a different way
  2. What are the 3 best European films you have seen in the last year?
    Triangle of sadness (Ruben Ostlund,2022)
The worst person in the World (Joachim Trier, 2021)
    Happening (Audrey Diwan, 2021)
  3. What does Europe mean to you?
For me, Europe is vanguard, art, history, culture, cinema and future
  4. What do you like the most about your country that makes it unique?
The people, the joyness of the streets, the movement and its constant life, the gastronomy and cinema.
  5. Your favorite film theatre? What do you like about it?
I love the Cine Dore, also known as “Filmoteca Española”, its design and sound, the location is central, they host interesting film forums and they always bring incredible filmmakers. And for normal theaters, I usually go to Cine Yelmo Ideal, because it is located downtown, its theaters are spacious, they have discounts for young people and they show all the films in their original language.
  6. What is your dream job in the film industry?
    Being a film director
  7. Which film director would you like to be?
    Ruben Ostlund.
  8. Which film character do you most identify with?
It’s a bit difficult for me to choose one in particular but maybe I could say, Simba from the Lion King
  9. Your favorite soundtrack or song?
    Cinema Paradiso – Ennio Morricone
  10. If you had to live in a movie, which one would you like it to be?
    Amelie (Jean-Pierre Jeunet, 2005)
