France – Jean Eustache (Pessac) France – Jean Eustache (Pessac)

Opened in 1990, the cinema Jean Eustache became one the most active arthouse cinemas in France. Located in the center of Pessac, nearby Bordeaux, its 5 screens, its little café, its big entrance hall and its rooftop host 7000 screenings, 300 events and 3 film festivals each year.

The programme is eclectic and offers a very broad choice of films (always in original version) and activities. We organize a lot of sneak previews with members of the cast, masterclasses & Q&As, young audience workshops, classic films screenings, gaming sessions… Diversity is the key word: Our team is entirely focused on showing the wide variety of contemporary cinema to a large and diverse audience.

Thanks to a yearly cultural programme combining lectures and screenings about history, cinema, arts and literature, we are lucky to have very loyal moviegoers that are strongly attached to our (their) cinema. The film education from 3 to 100 years old is essential to us. That is why we developed historical partnerships with the school and university network in the metropolitan area. The education of tomorrow’s cinephiles is our motto!
