Opened in 2014, G8 Cultural Centre is a private art house cinema and also a venue for special events related to the cinema and the wider world of visual and performing arts. G8 Cinema is equipped with three screening rooms, a hall for presentations, a small museum of cinema, a café and a garden, which in summer turns to an outdoor cinema (G8 Kino Dvor). Our mission is to promote film culture through a diverse selection and exhibition of high-quality films from all over the world. New releases, classics, independent, documentaries or shorts are part of our regular programme and of various film festivals. The venue also provides a variety of accompanying events such as discussions, workshops, exhibitions which are also a key factor in attracting, building and developing new audiences. G8 is among the traditional locations and hosts of the most popular festivals such as Sofia International Film Festival, Kinomania, Cinelibri, Master of Art, Sofia MENAR, etc. The museum also invites our guests to stay in our venue and enjoy the stories of cinema as invention, history of film equipment, aesthetic and art. During the pandemic times, G8 implemented important projects in the field of cinema history, education and art diversity, supported by national institutions. Various activities such as screenings, educational shorts, books, exhibitions, children’s and youth workshops in animation, cinematography and editing, were organized and appreciated by our audience and film community.
