The Louxor is one of the few historic cinemas remaining in Paris and the only theatre in France to be decorated
in the Egyptian style. In 1981 it was listed as Historic Heritage. Now belonging to the City of Paris, it is operated by CineLouxor and reopened in April 2013.
The Louxor offers art cinema (with a prominent place for films from other cultures) and special programmes : « ciné-club » (a focus on a filmmaker) « Université Populaire » (a « carte blanche » is given to a celebrity), premieres…
A program « Les P’tits Loux ! » is edited each trimester and offers a wide proposition to young audience (schools and young children), including premieres, « ciné-concerts »,
On the 3d floor, a bar opening onto a terrace offers an amazing view onto the Sacré Coeur.
