Slovakia – Kino Film Europe (Bratislava)

Slovakia - Kino Film Europe (Bratislava)

Kino Film Europe is located in the historical Pistori Palace in Bratislava. The palace built during the 19th century, had a rich and turbulent history. Since 2011, the Old Town of Bratislava has been transforming it into a cultural centre.
The intimate atmosphere of this historic movie theatre, with its retro-style upholstered seats, a capacity of 99 seats and a high-quality cinema projection and sound equipment, offers viewers a wonderful film experience in a picturesque location.

In our programme you can find primarily the films from the most important film festivals, and between them mainly the awarded films in Cannes, Venice, Berlinale, Toronto etc. Our priority is to show quality European Film productions.
We organize three thematic film festivals each year. Be2Can – our TOP event presenting the movies from main competitions of Berlinale, Cannes and Venice Film Festival, Scandi – our local film festival of Scandinavian films and Crème de la Crème – A French Film Week, an event organized every year in cooperation with The French Institute in Slovakia. Alongside with each thematic film festival we offer also thematic workshops, lectures, chill out rest zones and other similar activities.

Regularly we do special screenings for schools of all levels. We organized a film course based on Mark Cousins document series The Story of film: An Odyssey.
We are also proud of our new project – cooperation with ZOOT, a clothing e-shop. They promote our films on their fashion blog, where their stylists and Slovak fashion bloggers present outfits which are appropriate or inspirational for the audience. Our last collaborations were made for the film Perfect Strangers (Paolo Genovese, 2016, IT) and Small Town Killers (Ole Bornedal, 2017, DK). They are also promoting European films in their lifestyle magazine.

We are very thankful, that Jake Sladek will represent Kino Film Europe as ambassador for 28 Times Cinema.
