We are very proud and happy to announce that one of Area Metropolis 2.0’s regular moviegoers, Tommaso Santambrogio, has been selected as Ambassador of “28 Times Cinema”, representing Italy and Area Metropolis 2.0 at the incoming Venice Days.

Area Metropolis 2.0 is a film theatre and a special cultural project, created in 2006 by Fondazione Cineteca Italiana and the City of Paderno Dugnano. Our cinema is member of the Europa Cinemas network since 2011 and has now become a point of reference for many neighbouring municipalities including Milan’s northern area.

Area Metropolis 2.0 is specially distinguished and internationally awarded for the quality of its programme. People can find here the best first releases, film programs and classics retrospectives, as well as numerous extra events such as photographic exhibitions, shows, live music performances, meetings with authors, and other.

Based on the care of the relationship with the audience, and with an all-round communication, it operates in synergy with the other two Fondazione Cineteca Italiana Milanese cinema theatres: Cinema Spazio Oberdan and MIC-Interactive Film Museum.

Having film education of the new generations among its foremost objectives, Area Metropolis 2.0 has been putting a special care in setting up film programmes, previews and matinées tailored for students of all ages and grades, workshops, courses for teachers. Moreover, Area Metropolis has launched in 2016 the ‘Card18’ that offers eighteen-year-old Paderno Dugnano citizens free admissions to screenings.

At the core of these educational activities is the ‘Piccolo Grande Cinema’ International Film Festival, celebrating in November 2017 its 10th edition offering film premieres, workshops and special events for families and schools.
