Aspiring film producer with a background in advertising and PR.
2. What are your 3 best qualities and your 3 worst habits?
3 best qualities: Pretty ambitious, good public speaker, great at pointing out the obvious
3 worst habits: Annoying spell-checker, can’t wake up early, can’t delegate.
3. What is your dream job?
Film producer.
4. What do you like most about your country?
I love the fact that you can innovate in so many domains. Even if in the last years there have been tons and tons of brilliant new content coming out from here, I feel like there’s still room for new and bold ideas.
5. What is your favorite dish in your country?
Caltaboș (only and mandatorily on Christmas’ Eve).
6. What is the word or the expression in your native language that you like the most and what does it mean?
A avea lipici (literal translation “to have glue”) – to be charismatic, likeable, to be liked really fast by people, usually refers to children.
7. What European capital have you visited lately?
Sarajevo.
8. Other than your own, which European country would you love to live in?
Any, really. I feel like there’s a lot to learn and see in any new country. But I could say I am quite interested in countries like Poland and the Czech Republic where the film industries have developed a lot in the past years.
9. What does Europe mean to you?
People trying to protect each other in every way.
10. What are the European values that you share?
Sharing, equal chances, freedom of speech.
11. What film made you fall in love with cinema?
I don’t think there’s been a single film, but rather a bunch of them and a context to put them in. But if I had to name the film that first got me hooked on cinema it would probably be My Fair Lady by George Cukor. I watched it first when I was around 8 and it has stuck with me.
12. What is your favorite cinema theatre and what do you like about it?
Cinema Muzeul Țăranului – which translates as The Cinema of the Peasant’s Museum, as it is located in this institution. It has remained of the last art-house cinemas in Bucharest after many of them have been closed in 2015. It has a really good programming featuring Romanian as well as European films, it’s close to home and hosts lots of festivals.
13. Where do you like to watch movies and on which platform (DVD, online, cinema, mobile phone, etc.)?
I prefer going to the cinema, if that’s not possible I watch films online.
14. Who is your movie hero?
Holly Golightly.
15. If you were a movie director which one would you like to be?
I would much rather be a film producer. And although I don’t aspire to become like someone, Vincent Maraval of Wild Bunch is rather inspiring.
16. Briefly describe your favorite scene
The train scene in The Grand Budapest Hotel by Wes Anderson. Concierge Gustave H. shares his knowledge with his apprentice Zero and they are attacked by a group of soldiers.

The soundtrack of Grease.

Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Tina Fey.

Drawing.

My knowledge.

Jumping from advertising to film.
